Automated Rack Plating Line (Sidearm Hoist)
The automated rack plating line (sidearm hoist), also known as a cantilever plating line, is a flexible automated solution for surface treatment. Unlike the overhead gantry structure, the hoist mechanism is supported from one side of the tanks. In this system, workpieces are secured on racks and transported by a specialized cantilever robotic arm. The arm automatically lifts and moves the components through various process tanks (such as pickling, electroplating, and rinsing). This line supports multiple plating processes including gold, silver, nickel, copper, tin, and plastic plating, and is adaptable for anodizing, phosphating, and other rack-based surface treatments.
This side arm rack plating equipment is characterized by its compact structure, ease of maintenance, and high flexibility, making it an ideal choice for enterprises with limited workshop space or those requiring versatile processing for small-to-medium-sized metal components.
- PLC Control System: Pre-set programs direct the robotic arm's movements, ensuring high-precision positioning and rigorous timing control.
- Efficient Robotic Movement: The automatic plating system achieves continuous production with a lifting speed of 5–15 m/min, a horizontal travel speed of 5–25 m/min, and a cycle time of 3–20 minutes.
The entire process is fully automated to minimize manual intervention:
(Degreasing, Pickling)
(Nickel, Gold plating, etc.)
(Rinsing, Drying)
Ideal for the rack plating of small-to-medium-sized workpieces, offering high flexibility for facilities handling multiple product varieties in small-to-medium batches.
The automated rack plating line consists of several core modules:
- Sidearm Rotating Hoist: The primary transport mechanism for horizontal and vertical movement.
- Acid and Alkali Resistant Tanks: Specifically engineered for rack plating environments.
- Rack Conductive Components: Ensuring stable electrical contact for the workpieces.
- Auxiliary Equipment: Includes a simplified electronic control system, rectifiers, filtration units, and other supporting devices.
